Ayodhya: Petals of Hinduism

Not just a city or a place rooted in the cultural history of a country and its people, but a way of life, a sense of identity and belonginess, Ayodhya stands as the flag bearer of age old tradition, continuing to be so with the greatest of values carried forward throughout the eons of time. The enlightened city- which was graced by the incarnation of lord Vishnu, who led the people as lord Rama and presented the ideal of 'Ram-Rajya'.
Abode of Shri Raam, Ayodhya is a city every child born in India knows of, even if they do not know its precise geographical location. This is because of lord Rama, Ayodhya gets so much respect as these words says-
"गंगा बड़ी गोदावरी, तीरथ बड़े प्रयाग l
सबसे बड़ी अयोध्या नगरी, जहां राम लीनहे अवतार ll"
Here in Ayodhya, Shri Ram lives in the heart of every person. He is treated in the Swaroop as one wants. For some, he is still a baby called Ram Lalla. For mothers, he is in the form of a son. And for young ones, he is an ideal to be followed. For people of Mithila, he is the son-in-law. So there is no one way to perceive Him. His life tells us how to lead a virtuous life to be a good human being and so does Ayodhya.
Because of this faith, Ayodhya certainly deserves some attention for anyone interested in Hindu Mythology. It is one of the most sacred seven cities of Hindus called 'Sapt-Puris'. In fact, it is the most revered one as this line says-
"कोटि कल्प काशी बसे, मथुरा कल्प हजार l
एक निमिस सरजू बसे, तुले न तुलसीदास l l"
Being a prominent teerth, group of pilgrims can be seen here, singing songs related to Lord Rama and chants in full throated voice "Jai Shri Raam". And like every sacred cities, Ayodhya is located on the banks of a river called Saryu which has its own importance for Hindus. It played a vital role in the city and according to Raam Charit Manas, Rama immersed himself in the Saryu to return to his eternal Vishnu form. Also there is a popular belief that Teerthraaj Prayag visits saryu every year to clean all the sins accumulated from those who took dip into Triveni. Thus the importance of Maa Saryu can not be ignored.
There are many revered temples in Ayodhya who have deep rooted history in Hindu Mythology. Raam Janm Bhoomi, Kanak Bhawan, Hanuman Garhi, Nageshwar Nath, Ksheereswar Nath and many more who draws many devotees towards them. Even the Ghats of this city, have their story to be told. Ram ki paidi where lakhs of devotees witnessing the grand deepotsav since 2017 and Guptar Ghaat; where Lord Rama along with his brothers took Jal Samadhi. Each and every corner of this city has a enriched history.
In Reality, Ayodhya can never be seen as a city made up of bricks and marbles, of wall and pillars, it is a ciy made of emotions of a spiritual and nationalistic flavour; which cannot go unnoticed in any reverie about this country as a whole. Not only a centre of culture and religion, Ayodhya also, is the potential powerhouse in making India a operational Superpower.
